We design sustainable and accessible spaces that change over time and are rooted in context. We search for knowledge in various disciplines and crafts. We co-design neighbourhoods together with local communities. We are interested in imperfections and primeval spaces. We add rather than redo. In our creative explorations, we are focused on questions related to time, process, change, new ecology and grassroots initiatives. We love third landscapes.
Landscape Practice was established in 2015 in Warsaw, Poland by Marta Tomasiak. We design public spaces, recreational areas, surroundings of buildings, gardens and temporary installations.
Marta Tomasiak is the founder of the studio. Her childhood in the fields and forests of Pomerania have deeply influenced her Landscape Practice : rooted in the context and always in search of the tangible realities that must be understood to bring a project to life.
She obtained her Masters of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Copenhagen. Her professional and academic career brought her to seven countries over the last 15 years, where she has collaborated with renowned landscape and urban designers, as well as NGOs and associations. In 2015, she decided to create her own studio in Warsaw to experiment and build her ideas around imperfect and primeval spaces, interaction with nature, grassroots initiatives and Third Landscape.
Marta now resides in France, from where she is managing the Paris and Warsaw offices of Landscape Practice. Which left her little time to go hiking in the mountains, reading by the sea and playing the food and wine aficionado with friends
Marta Przygoda joined the studio in 2021 and holds a double degree from the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology and from the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts.
She has an avid interest in the themes of urban life and how the city impacts those who inhabit it. Her design practice focuses on the human aspects, as well as the harmony of spaces and materials, in order to make the city a better place to live.
Always passionate, Marta enjoys learning new things and her interests are constantly changing. Her current focus is kickboxing and web design.
Sonja Marczewski is a recent graduate from the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, after a first Bachelor at the Academy of Fine Arts.
She started her designer journey as an architect joining several competition projects, where she liked discussing concepts and making beautiful models and visuals; but also as a theater designer (stage and costume design). She has been with Landscape Practice since 2022.
Climbing and sewing during her spare time. Sonja has stayed connected to Sweden where she was born and which she is always delighted to return to and explore its forests and rock gardens.
Kamila Lejman-Kudła received her Engineering degree in Landscape Architecture at the Warsaw University of Life and Science in 2014. Whilst designing, she remains highly focused on the local context of the site, as well as the comfort and experiences of the users of the space, keeping in mind the contemporary urban challenges that cities face.
Kamila's work is informed by her professional experience in three countries: Netherlands, where she worked at Okra Landscape Architects (2018-2020) and Buro Sant en Co (2016-2018) after continuing her studies and graduating from Wageningen University in 2017; Germany, where she worked at Capattistaubach urbane landschaften (2021-2022) in Berlin; and now Poland where she joined the Warsaw office of Landscape Practice in 2022.
Great outdoors enthusiast, Kamila enjoys long walks in the forest with her loved ones.
